Step Table

An eight-slot lookup table for CV. You dial a value into each of eight steps, then feed an index voltage to read them back — a simple, direct way to turn a counter, ramp, or LFO into a sequence of fixed voltages.

How it works

The index input spans 0 to 10V across the eight slots, so an incoming voltage picks one step and the out jack passes that step's stored value. Drive the index from a clocked counter and the table plays as a sequencer; sweep it with an LFO and you scan the values smoothly in steps.

Controls

  • Step 1–8 — the value held in each slot, from 0 to 10. Whatever step the index lands on appears at the output.

Inputs & outputs

  • Index — selects the active slot; 0–10V maps across the eight steps.
  • Out — the value stored in the selected step.

Tips

  • Patch a stepped or clock-divided ramp into Index to step through the table as a melody or modulation sequence.
  • Send the output through a quantizer to lock the eight values to a scale.
