Sequential Switch
Routes one of up to eight inputs to a single output, stepping to the next input on every clock pulse. It's a cycling selector — feed it eight signals and it spits them out one at a time in turn, perfect for round-robin melodies, switching between modulation sources, or chopping between audio voices in time with your patch.
How it works
Each clock pulse advances the active channel by one, wrapping back to the first after the last; Reset drops it to channel 1. Whatever input the active channel points at is passed straight through to Out. Patching the Sel jack overrides the clock entirely: in Select mode its voltage picks the channel directly, and in Advance mode its rising edges do the stepping instead of the clock.
Controls
- Steps — how many channels cycle, from
2to8; the sequence wraps after this many, and unused channels go dark. - Sel — what the Sel jack does when patched:
Select(voltage chooses the channel) orAdvance(each rising edge steps to the next).
The row of lights shows which channel is live right now.
Inputs & outputs
- 1–8 — the eight signals to switch between; patch audio or CV to any of them.
- Clock — advance to the next channel on each pulse; this sets the switching tempo.
- Reset — jump back to channel 1.
- Sel — override the clock position with CV; behaves as a selector or a stepper per the Sel control.
- Out — the currently selected input.
Tips
- Patch a clock and leave Sel unpatched for classic round-robin sequencing; set Steps to odd values for cross-rhythms against your other sequencers.
- Drive Reset from a slower clock division to loop a shorter run than Steps would give on its own.
- In Select mode, a slow LFO into Sel sweeps through the channels for hands-free switching between sources.
