Sample Player
Plays a sample from your library, one-shot or looping, with pitch control. Trigger it from a drum sequencer for hits and loops, or sweep it with a keyboard for chromatic sample playback. Stereo files play in stereo; mono files play centered.
Controls
- Sample — the loaded sample; click the slot to browse your library and pick one. Choosing a new sample resets playback.
- Speed — pitch and playback rate, ±2 octaves around the sample's original pitch. At
0 octthe sample plays back untransposed. - Level — output volume, from silent to full.
- Loop —
Offplays once and stops at the end;Onwraps back to the start and repeats.
Inputs & outputs
- Trig — a rising edge restarts playback from the beginning. Patch a clock or gate here to retrigger; it won't re-fire until the signal falls back toward zero, so sustained gates trigger cleanly once.
- V/Oct — 1V/octave pitch control, summed with Speed. Patch a keyboard or sequencer to play the sample chromatically.
- L / R — stereo audio out.
Tips
- For melodic playback, pick a single-cycle or pitched sample and drive V/Oct from a sequencer — the player tracks 1V/oct cleanly.
- With Loop on and no retriggering, the sample becomes a continuous source you can pitch and filter like an oscillator.
