Quad VCO

Four oscillators in one module — built as the Chord module's other half. Patch Chord's outputs 1–4 into V/OCT 1–4, take the MIX output, and a whole chord sounds through one cable. Each oscillator is also fully independent, so it's equally at home as four separate voices.

Controls

Each oscillator gets a row:

  • Wave — Sine, Triangle, Saw, or Square (saw and square are

band-limited, so they stay clean up high).

  • Octave — shifts that oscillator -3…+3 octaves. Drop oscillator 1 an

octave for an instant bass-plus-chord voicing.

  • Mix — that oscillator's level in the MIX output, 0–100%. Defaults to

50% so four voices sum with headroom.

And one shared control:

  • Detune — fans up to ±24¢ across the voices in a symmetric pattern, so

the chord thickens without drifting off-pitch. 0 = perfectly in tune.

Inputs & outputs

  • V/OCT 1–4 — per-oscillator pitch, 1V/oct (0 V = C4). Unpatched inputs

sit at C4.

  • 1–4 — each oscillator's direct output, always full level (the Mix knobs

don't touch these).

  • MIX — all four, summed through their Mix knobs.

Tips

  • Chord 1–4 → V/OCT 1–4, MIX → filter → VCA: a complete pad voice in

three modules. Add a little Detune and it turns lush.

  • Mismatch the waveforms — saw/saw/square/sine — and use Mix to balance

the blend like a drawbar organ.

  • The direct outs still work with the mix: send 1 to its own filter for an

accented lead voice while MIX carries the pad underneath.
