Patch Start

Fires a single trigger the moment your patch starts playing — the first time it makes sound after loading. Reach for it to kick something off exactly once at the beginning: open an envelope, reset a sequencer, or start the automation song.

How it works

Every time a patch loads, its modules are created fresh, and Patch Start arms a one-shot pulse that fires on the patch's first audio. Muting and un-muting audio (the power button) does not re-fire it — power just enables audio, it isn't a restart. Drop a new one into a running patch and it fires once, right away.

Controls

  • Trig — press to fire the output by hand. Handy when you drop Patch Start

into a patch that's already running: there's no fresh load to auto-fire it, so this button kicks it off (re-triggers the "start") on demand.

Inputs & outputs

  • Trig — a ~1ms, 10V pulse on the patch's first audio (and on each button

press), then silence. Patch it into any gate or trigger input.

Tips

  • Wire **Trig → the Automation module's START and RESET inputs** so the song plays

from the top the instant the patch comes alive — then press Trig to replay it from the top without reloading. (START alone resumes from wherever the playhead sits; RESET rewinds it to 0 — together they mean "play from the beginning.")

  • Into an envelope's gate, it gives you a single "hello" swell when the patch opens.
