Attenuverter
Scales a signal up or down, flips its polarity, and adds a DC offset. A small, essential utility for taming hot modulation, inverting an envelope, or biasing a CV into a useful range.
Controls
- Amt — attenuverts the input from
-1to+1: full clockwise passes it through, centre mutes it, the lower half inverts. - Ofs — adds a steady DC offset of up to ±5, shifting the whole signal.
Inputs & outputs
- In — the signal to scale; audio or CV both work.
- CV — voltage control over the amount; it sums with the Amt knob — a ±5 swing spans the full range — and the total is clamped so gain never passes unity.
- Out — the scaled, offset result.
- Inv — the same result with its polarity flipped; send opposing modulation to two destinations at once.
Tips
- To turn a unipolar source (
0to+5) bipolar, set Amt to span the range you want, then dial Ofs to centre it on zero. - Patch a slow LFO into CV to fade the input in and out.
